Mega Buzz - 5/21/13

I can't believe I have to wait all summer for more Castle. Is there any way Beckett will turn down Castle's proposal? — Lauren

ADAM:
Depends on who you ask. Cast member Tamala Jones thinks that Beckett's desire for career advancement in Washington, D.C., could outweigh her feelings for Castle. "Beckett is a strong woman, and she's not going to forget who she is," she says. "So she may say no — or not right now." Susan Sullivan, who plays Castle's mother, has a different take. "What woman in her right mind would say no to him?" she says. "Therein would lie the problem: I may actually have to move out. Yikes!"

Ask Ausiello - 5/21/13

Question: So inquiring minds want to know —how will Kate respond to Rick’s proposal on Castle? —Rita

Ausiello: Sources confirm to me exclusively that she will say yes… or no… or something in between. Molly Quinn (Alexis) is pulling for a yes, arguing, “Castle is the best man out there and absolutely loves her and is devoted to her.” Should an engagement and wedding come to pass, don’t expect a certain three-letter word to ever come out of Alexis’ mouth. “I don’t think that Alexis will ever see her as a stepmom because a stepmother has authority,” explains Quinn. “There’s no way that Alexis would be OK with that. She’s used to running the house. And not even her dad has that much authority. So she would see Beckett as an equal and she would totally appreciate [her]. But I don’t even think Beckett would ever try to [parent]. Alexis is an adult now. She’s 20. If this had happened when Alexis was 16, that would have been a totally different story. I’m very glad that it didn’t happen because that would have been a lot of rebellion and a lot of trouble.”

Lena Lamoray Exclusive CASTLE Seamus Dever “Detective Kevin Ryan” Interview ABC

Lena: I know you can’t give too much away, but what can you say about the finale? Will it end on a cliffhanger?

Seamus Dever:
There is something very interesting about the murder this time. It’s based on something in reality. We film all the time at a hotel in downtown L.A. There was a murder that happened at that hotel and the body was dumped in the water reservoir at the very top of the building where they keep I guess for emergencies or plumbing, but they found the body in there and so the murder that we have is sort of ripped from the headline. While we didn’t actually film at that hotel for this murder scene, we filmed a block away. That’s something that I can say. The murder is very clever. Normally, I’m not really attracted to the murders, it’s not really what I watch the show for; I watch the show for the interactions and relationships more than the whodunit and the mystery of it all. In the process of solving that, Castle and Beckett have to come to a decision. Ryan gets to reveal some stuff to Esposito. We start to see Beckett being tempted with something. Castle has to make some decisions about where their relationship is going. We solve a murder and I’m calling it a light cliffhanger because it’s not one of those things where you are like, “Oh my gosh!” You’re not going to be dangling off the side of a building or anything like that, but I think there will still be a gasp. I promise a gasp. [Laughing.]

GMMR: Molly Quinn Previews Drama for Alexis and Castle

CASTLE has had quite the range of finales over the past several years (splits, death, shootings, coupling), and “Watershed,” the season 5 closer, is shaping up to be quite the hour.

To try and get a little insight into what will be going down, I spoke with Molly Quinn (Alexis) about some upcoming drama…

Last year Alexis had a clear-cut role in the finale as she was prepping for graduation, so what can you say about her role in “Watershed”?

Molly Quinn: There’s a lot of tension between her and her dad. She’s wanting to go off again and experience more of the world, and he’s putting the brakes on that after what happened the last time she tried to do that. He has all the reason in the world to.

But at the same time, she is right in justifying that just because one bad thing happened, you don’t need to shut yourself up in your room and never come out. In fact, that would be the worst thing to do. So that’s what she’s doing this season. In fact, every character this season is really expanding and that’s causing tension between all of them.

Are they actually addressing the kidnapping specifically? We haven’t really seen the impact up until this point…

MQ: Alexis does bring it up. She does bring it up and he’s forced to say what he really thought about it, so it is an uncomfortable moment, I’ll say that. But as Alexis and Castle always do, it always gets resolved.
